In Maria's hands, a story is a living, breathing thing. The difference between reading a story off the page, and hearing her tell a story is the difference between studying a picture of a beautiful bird, and hearing that same bird singing in a tree. Frank Cottrell Boyce
'Maria is a joy to work with, a really generous writer and person. Her insight into and passion for stories is phenomenal.'

Maria says: I grew up in a small council house one of eight children.
My Irish / Liverpudlian family taught me how to tell a good tale. I owe my love of traditional folk tales, myths and legends to my family particularly my Dad. He gave me a gift that I have wanted to pass on to others all my adult life.
